A good defense is an offense. In VW's continued barrage of attacks on eliminating essential parts to keep our Vanagons running well, the throttle switch disappeared a few months back. Our in house electronics guru has designed a replacement unit to overcome this latest obstacle. Straightforward installation - comes with instructions. IMPORTANT NOTE - The vast majority of the throttle bodies came with large plastic cams to activate the throttle switch and this kit works with those models - we are working on making the kit work with both styles but for the moment please only order this kit if you have the large cam style ((90% seem to have that style). Large cam diameter measures 17.33mm or .69" while the small cam diameter measures in the range of 13 to 14mm range. Please see picture for clarification of cam measurement to check (enlarge it for better view). The smaller cam was originally only used on the 1985 models so as long as you are an 86 -91 with original throttle body this one should fit yours.
