Rubber brake hoses will expand/stretch when you apply firm pedal pressure resulting in a mushy pedal. Simply installing stainless steel lines will provide a firmer pedal. The front hoses are much longer than the rear, so the improvement is noticeable upon installing the front lines, but negligible with the rear. Not that we are discouraging replacing the rears, but we strongly encourage replacing at least the fronts. These are stainless steel lines with teflon hose - all lines have been tested following manufacture. 2 required per car and will fit 1980-1991 all models. Please note that you will need to slightly enlarge the openings in the brackets where the ends are clipped in place as the fittings on these lines are slightly larger than stock. A file, a dremel, or a 5/8 drill bit will all do the job. These brake lines are made by Earl's Performance - well known for their plumbing and fitting products for racing and off road applications - as such they are superior quality to stock application hoses but do not have DOT approval.
